Excellent video. I've run these for 55 years and I learned something from you today. If I may say one thing, buying 50/50 antifreeze is probably the biggest waste of money that you could do. Here in canada, it's the same price as concentrate. So I guess what I'm saying is you're paying just as much for half as much:-)
Yeah, I can understand that. Our water comes from a well and has lots of minerals in it that can cause cooling system issues. This is why I use a premix.
Nice tips
Just bought a Ferguson 35 1962 and can’t wait to do this. After watching you do it… I feel like somebody needs a mic drop. That’s how it’s done boys and girls. Any of the old Bush hogs work better than others or anything that’s still alive today from the 70s and 80s is probably pretty damn good? Need to go out and buy one and not sure what direction to take.
Just know. My tractor has the Howard Reduction Gear so it enables me to drive slow enough to cut stuff this thick!
I drilled and tapped my fill plug and added a zerk fitting, then used a air powered aro grease pump and pressure filled the steering box steering box in my '77 Ford 1600 that was leaking out of the shaft seal because the bushing was worn from carrying heavy loads with my loader and trying to steer with mystic g6 industrial waterproof grease that is so slick it's beyond slick, to the point it came out of the top of the steering shaft under the steering wheel, now id say that's pretty full! It's still a little hard to steer but always has been and takes a lot of force and about all you got when you have 1000lbs or more on the loader. But it doesn't leak and id say that packed full it's probably not shoving anything off. And it has a consistency of just a hare more thickness of the corn head and super super tacky. Made for excavators and heavy equipment joints to keep out moisture and stay connected to joints. It's synthetic, and a bit expensive, a 5 gallon bucket for my aro pump was $280 but it will last and I have a lot of equipment.
Should have named the video the impotent nome!😂
lol

If you email them ahead they can send it to you in bare metal (unpowdercoated) and you can give it the patina to match your preference.

Don't wanna sound mean or anything. But your channel is The kind of channel I do not like to watch. I hate it when somebody tells me everything that they're doing and going to do but don't show any of the process of doing it, so I will not subscribe to your channel and never will !
How did this work out as I did not see a follow up video?
It works really well!
@@TheKiltedHomesteader awesome. Getting ready to rebuild mine soon. Kit is on order. Need to get one of these for a backer.
Where did you get those gaskets? I hear the ones from the tractor sites are too loose.
Just 8n's!
Very cool! So this does not affect pto speed like the sherman does? Was it originally made for the 9 or 2N and thats why it didnt have the boss that holds in the reverse shaft?
I am not sure. It is possible though.
What are you warring
Hello from Ireland.. thank you for making this video of planting potatoes..
Its tbat time of year again, thsnks for the tips!
“The coil never goes bad.” I have replaced MANY, same with the condenser!
I’m debating whether to pick up a nine that is older but in great shape. It comes with five or six attachments for the PPO, which makes it interesting for me. You guys still recommend the nine for typical yardwork.
They are good, but I think the 8n are a little more user friendly
i would like to know if it would pull 1500 kg or 3000 lb ?
Not likely
Nice.looks & works good
are you still using your poor man's trolley? i had an idea for you.
No, I moved over a year ago and now I have a gambrel for my hoist.
How long is the beam?
It spans the workshop. I have since moved, but I guess it was about 12 feet,
when you get that close to finnal dimention try using a file or emery cloth but make sure to cover you ways with cloth to protect it from the gritty fileings.
Plant as you see no fancy stick
How much do these sell for?
Usually around $1k if complete and in good condition.
Thank You!
Hello. I apologize. I didn’t want anything bad. I was just making a selection about equipment in other countries. Since we have completely different equipment in Ukraine. I ask you to please withdraw your copyright complaint. This will not happen again. Thank you.

Thanks for watching!
Real men wear kilts!😅😅😅
They have been running for 70 years why change the temperature they run at now? They run a fraction of the hours they used to.
Good question. An engine will actually run more efficiently at a higher temperature however, when these were built, they often used alcohol as an antifreeze and above 160 degrees it would evaporate off faster. This is why they used a cooler thermostat back then. Again, a hotter engine (within reason) is actually a more efficient engine. I hope this helps!
It's very sad that the picture on here is very small.
I totally agree, picture is to small. 😢
Yeah it was a photo of the pictures. If you do a search you can find the document online.
When are you going to show us the footage of you actually putting it together instead of just talking about it?
I explain the process on my videos. I have no footage of putting it together. I had no one to operate the camera for me.
A lot of people would call that area a flange. That flat area that stick out.
Thanks for sharing
I love garden tractors.
If you want the best walk behind rototiller ever made in the world get a Howard Gem. They were selling for about $10,000 a piece when they quit making them. But you might pick up a used one pretty cheap. I found a barn find and fixed it up and went into business with it. They use the same blades that the tractor rototillers use. They have three speeds forward, one speed reverse, adjustable handlebars up and down and side to side do you keep footprints out of the tilled ground. They have a locking differential when the PTO is engaged. There are videos of some of them on UA-cam but those people don't know how to use them very well. And they weigh around 700lbs. And they have three different widths that you could buy, I think the widest was 36 inches. Mine was the 19-in for going through narrow gates. Howard was the company that first invented the rotary tiller. And they have been around the longest. I think Howard still makes the tractor mounted tillers.
Thanks for sharing
So, when are you going to show us what the inside of the gearbox looks like? If you tell your viewers that you are going to do something then you should show them what you're doing. A lot of people would rather see something being done instead of talking about it and then not showing it.
I hear what you are saying. I was just explaining what I was going to do. I was not intending to show the inside. Thanks for watching!
My dad had a Massey Ferguson tractor and the PTO lever would scrape the seat so he grounded it down and put an extension on it right behind the seat made out if rebar.
I didn't see a reversible bush or hog harrow in this video. Only a disk.
It is called a bush and bog harrow. By loosening a couple of bolts and pulling some pins the discs can flip around. I generally use it how it is used here. Thanks for watching!
Thank you, i have an old Massey Ferguson that uses one of these. I had never seen one before and wasnt quite sure how you were supposed to place it . This really helped. Thanks again
Danuser F7 or F8?
I'm not sure.
How do I know if my coil has the internal resistor or not?
By getting the makers specs. Usualy a part number can help.
I wish somebody would either make a set of blue prints or a 3d model of these so that they can be reproduced by those of us with small machine shops.
That would be nice!
Possible it is a O ring 3/16x2 5/8 according to pressure it must be 90 degr Shore not standard 70 Thanks for video
You shouldn't need to cut threads longer than your grease fitting
Way too fast.....
I was using a higher gear as instructed in the operator manual in an attempt to throw the dirt out more. Thanks for watching!
those blinking gnomes.....
Very good video, keep it up....
Agree. I’ve had little problems with my Harbor Freight (old HF) large tools. I appreciated getting cast iron, not plastic (recent HF). I’m thinking about buying a hoist for moving my shop equipment. I have a vintage Delta shaper and a vintage Craftsman jointer - both cast iron. I put the jointer on casters, so that moves easily now. The shaper came with a wheeled stand - the wheels are underneath the enclosed stand. But, the shaper kept getting hung up and dragged whenever I try to move it. Yesterday I gently tipped over the shaper to assess the issue with its wheels. I rested it on its side, slanted, on auto ramps (Harbor Freight). I hoped that by laying it down on a slope and not laying flat I could more easily lift it back upright once I fixed its problem. WRONG!!! The current center of gravity is not to my advantage (although it’s better than if it were laying flat). Now I have a leaning shaper in the middle of my working floor that I can’t lift alone. 😡😡😡😡🔥🔥 (I’m a chick.) Thanks for this video.
Thanks for watching. I'm sorry to hear about you predicament
I don't believe there is a resistor in the coil. The resistance reading on the primary should be under 1 ohm, because there is a small amount of coiled wire compared to the secondary. To test the secondary. Move the meter to 20K ohms. The secondary has many more coils of wire and would have much more resistance, it should read 5k to 10k on many coils. General rule.
Yes, some coils have built in resistors and some do not. They make them both ways and for different applications. Thank you for watching.
I have to find a nomes equipped meter
Let me know if you find one ; D
